Open Call for Artists to enter Plymouth's Urban Tree Art Exhibition May 24

 This is an Open Call to Artists and Makers in and around the city of Plymouth to be part of an Exhibition of original work that seeks to celebrate and explore the world of trees within our parks and city landscapes.

This will be part of our 2nd Plymouth Urban Tree Festival 11th May – 19th May 2024  in association with Plymouth Tree People (plymouthtrees.org)and Plymouth Urban Tree Festival

An Exhibition of Original Drawings, Paintings, 3D and Prints will take place at Ocean Studios from 11th may – 21st May 2024

We invite artists at any stage of their creative journey to produce a piece of original work that celebrates our wonderful parks and street trees in Plymouth. 

There will be two age categories –  

Over 16 years 

Children up to 16 years 

Submission fee – £10.00 per entrant 

To make a submission – buy a ticket for £10.00 – email beth.munro@realideas.org with images of the work you want to submit – up to three pieces of Original work – please include your name – the title of the work – the medium

Entrants may submit up to 3 pieces of work for this exhibition. Subject to selection, each entrant will be guaranteed to exhibit at least one of the submitted works provided all relevant guidelines have been met. 

Work: 

We would like Original works of Art – which can be drawings, paintings, prints, photography, risographs, sculpture, collage, mixed media 

Size: Up to A1  

Please can all work be ready to hang, if it is not framed then it will still need a hanging system for us to be able to include it in the exhibition 

Each work should be wrapped and clearly labelled with the following information 

Name 

Title 

Medium

Contact details 

If it is part of an edition – no of edition

Please note: Real Ideas holds the contents/building insurance, but artists will be responsible for insuring their own works. 

Important dates 

Call for Entries OPEN – April 11th 2024  

Call for Entries CLOSES – May 6th 2024 

Deliver work – May 8th – 10th 2024 – to Ocean Studios café between 10am – 4pm 

Exhibition Opens May 11th – 21st 2024  

Collection of work – 22nd – 27th May 2024 from Ocean Studios

All applicants will recieve an email on May 7th to confirm submission and to be sent more details about the process, delivery and details of when you can view the exhibition
