Description

Join Plymouth Arts Club Member Dave Fernandez, sharing his painting and gouache skills, running at the same time as the PAC exhibition.

Join us for a gouache workshop with Dave Fernandez from Plymouth Art Club, where you’ll explore and develope gouache techniques. Whether you’re an artist or just beginning your creative journey, this session will inspire you to use gouache in interesting ways to capture your imagination.

Here’s what to expect:

  1. Mixing Palette: Bring your gouache mixing palette, learn colour mixing and discover how to create different tones. You will be guided through the process, offering tips and techniques with your palette.
  2. Materials Exploration: Bring your own canvas, board, wood or paper to work from. The facilitator will share valuable insights based on the surface you bring, make sure to prime your canvas or wood first.
  3. Brush Selection & Techniques: Bring a set of brushes with you, a variety of sizes is useful including big flat brushes.
  1. Personalised Reference Photography: To play with gouache techniques, we’d recommend bringing some photography to use as a reference point during the workshop eg. your favourite landscape/seascape.
  2. Essential Tools for Cleanup: We have water cups, but feel free to bring kitchen towels/clothes if you’d like to dry down your brushes afterwards.

This session will be an informal small group for your to develope and play with your painting skills. Dust off the gouache set and join us for the session.
